About Our Staff...
We have a very competent and compassionate staff available to assist you regarding many of your questions. Our assistants have been specially trained in their specific areas and many have been with us for several years. Please do not hesitate to discuss any questions you have with them.
The doctors are available to answer routine questions during office hours. Emergency calls will be dealt with promptly. Less urgent calls will be returned during the day (time permitting) or after office hours.
After office hours, it is difficult for the doctors to determine if a prescription refill is indicated because they do not have access to your medical records. Therefore, we request that such inquiries be made only during office hours. To request a refill, please contact the office with the name of the medication and the pharmacy telephone number.
Diagnostic Testing...
Our doctors have been trained to perform upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy, and a number of other diagnostic procedures, including Gastrointestinal Pathology Interpretation, which may be recommended to evaluate disorders of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract.
These procedures can often be performed at the Long Island Center for Digestive Health, an ambulatory endoscopy unit. This is conveniently located adjacent to the professional office at 1103 Stewart Avenue, Suite 301, Garden City, NY. Imaging tests such as ultrasound, CAT scanning or X-RAY may also be ordered to further evaluate your condition.
Your Initial Visit...
During the visit (or consultation), the doctor will ask you questions in an attempt to obtain a detailed history, and then perform a physical examination. He/she will discuss the findings and recommendations with you, and will recommend further testing if necessary. Please bring copies of recent laboratory and radiographic test results.
